Steam Turbine Order For Siemens

Siemens Energy has received a follow up order for the supply of an SST-400 steam turbine generator as an extension to the turbine building in the chemical industrial park in Wilton, England.

Siemens announced that its SST-400 industrial steam turbine with an installed capacity of 52 MW is to be deployed to generate power within the existing turbine building. The Siemens scope of supply encompasses an extraction condensing turbine, a generator and the associated auxiliary systems. It is anticipated that the components will be delivered to the customer after 13 months and will then be put into operation next to the existing Siemens turbine.

“This follow-up order underscores the contentedness of the customer with the existing Siemens unit and the excellent cooperation between Sembcorp and Siemens,” said Markus Tacke, CEO of the Industrial Power Business Unit of Siemens Energy. “Thanks to the intensive cross-location cooperation with Siemens UK it was possible to give assurance that the customer’s tight deadline up to first power generation will be met.”

Sembcorp manages one of Europe’s leading integrated chemical industrial parks at Wilton, in north east England. This park is home to a number of chemical, petrochemical and biofuel companies.
