More Gorgon Project Awards For GE Oil & Gas

GE Oil & Gas technology has been further selected to support the development of Gorgon, one of the world's largest untapped natural gas fields, which also includes a large CO2 sequestration project. GE announced that they will supply five 130 MW Frame 9 gas turbines in a modularized solution to meet the power generation needs of Barrow Island's gas treatment and liquifaction facilities.

Additionally, the drilling and production side of GE has announced that they will supply the susea production system that will be installed between 60 and 140 km offshore Barrow Island, in water depths ranging from 200 to 1350 m.

The Frame 9 gas turbines will be manufactured in Belfort, France, and in Florence, Italy, and will be fully preassembled for the first time in modules, with all controls and auxiliaries and tested in Massa, Italy, before being shipped to Australia between July 2012 and mid-2013.

The subsea equipment supply will be managed from GE Oil & Gas offices in Perth, Australia, with equipment being manufactured and supplied from other GE facilities around the world. First deliveries are planned for the second quarter, 2011.
